25 Sep 2011 : Summer Update
***Summer Update***

Hi everyone, I just wanted to update you all on what has been going on at the club and pre-season.

Coaching
You may have already seen from my previous email that Carl Wright is the new mens coach and training will be running on Wednesdays at 7.30pm.

Tony who has coached at Southend and Chelmsford will be taking the ladies training on Tuesday nights with Charlie Fillingham supporting. Come along at 7pm for a bit of fitness and a warm-up ready to start training at 7.30pm. Hopefully the under 14 girls will be training in an earlier slot on a Tuesday night which will help them move up into the senior teams.

Fees
Those that pay the club subscription will be sent a reminder at the start of the season and this will need to be paid in by the end of October. If this is not paid then you will not be selected to play.

Vacancy
We currently have a vacancy for umpire co-ordinator, so until this is filled captains and their teams will be responsible for organising an umpire for their games.

Kit
We are hoping to have Out There Sports up at the club on build up to the new season selling kit. We also hope that current club members will have the option to order an additional club shirt in a more breathable material with their club number if they would like to.

We are also going to be doing bags4sport again this year so if you have any good quality clothes, hats, bags, belts, bedding, soft toys or paired shoes, then bag them up and bring them to the club to add to our collection.

Your help is greatly appreciated and lets hope this is the start of another great season!

22 Sep 2011 : Phoenix Appoint new Mens Coach
I am delighted to announce the appointment of Carl Wright as Phoenix Men's coach for the coming season where he will lead training on Wednesday nights and coach the XI every Saturday.

Carl has played at the highest level for both Chelmsford and Southgate and is currently completing his level 2 coaching badge. Having worked with Carl previously, I know he will bring a wealth of technical knowledge and enthusiasm to the role and I would like to take the opportunity to wish him every success.

Pre-season starts each Wednesday night from the 10th August 2011 starting at 7.30pm - Carl and I look forward to seeing you and getting the season off to a flying start. We are always looking for new players, so if you fancy a game of hockey then come along!

Best wishes to all

Bob

21 Jan 2011 : Chris Card Steps Down as Chairman

Hi everyone

You will have received an email from Chris this week letting you know that he is stepping down as Chairman. As I'm sure most of you will agree Chris has done a great job as Chairman. Chris got us through challenging times at Braintree and was able to merge Braintree and Dunmow to become Phoenix over just a few months. This was a great achievement for everyone involved.

On behalf of the Club we would like to thank Chris for all the time and effort that he has spent on developing the club over the last few years, it has been greatly appreciated and we hope we can continue to move the club forward in his absence.

Charlie Fillingham agreed to be Acting Chairman with the support of the Club Presidents and the Management committee. I hope everyone will support Charlie as he steps into this role until the AGM.

Could I also ask that all members that are on the lists up in the club house that haven't already paid or completed a membership form do so as soon as possible. Thank you to captains and members who have responded to this already.

Don't forget it's the team social next Saturday (5th Feb) 7:30pm £10 a team. Please let your captains know this weekend if you will be joining your team! All the details are on the website and in the club house. Hope to see you all then!

Many Thanks

10 Nov 2010 : ****£148.44 Raised - Bags4Sport****

The bags4sport were finally collected on Friday and we managed to raise £148.44 for the club and I would like to Thank all club members that donated bags for helping to achieve this. Faye Taylor was the highest donator with 16 bags and wins a club voucher! Well done Faye!

Over 70 bags were collected this time and we plan to run this again in the future, if every member could donate just one bag we would have about 200 bags which would benefit the club greatly.

Thanks again, Alison Richardson

10 Oct 2010 : **Important** Message from the Chairman
With immediate effect all members are reminded that the drinking of alcohol and smoking is not allowed inside the fence surrounding the astro pitch, The damage either can do if dropped on the surface will only reduce a surface that is nearing the end of it's career and we certainly cannot afford to do it when a new carpet is laid.
In addition
the image it portrays of the club is not good. There is plenty of ground outside of the pitch if people are that desperate they cannot wait for the end of a game, you let yourself and the club down.
